Kottayam: Kerala Congress (M) leader Jose K Mani is likely to resign his Rajya Sabha post on Wednesday. Sources hinted that the Rajya Sabha seat will be handed over to Kerala Congress.

LDF has examined that Rajya Sabha by-election will be held for Kerala along with Gujarat.

According to reports, Jose K Mani who arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday night will submit his resignation letter on Wednesday itself.

Kerala Congress will decide on the candidate for the RS bypoll later. Names of senior leaders PK Sajeev, Stephen George and PT Jose are being considered.

The Rajya Sabha bypoll for Kerala is expected along with the bypoll for RS seats of Gujarat.

Following the exit of Jose K Mani from UDF, congress criticised him for not resigning the MP post which he won as a UDF member. Jose K Mani delayed the decision to resign the MP post as he was busy with the cases related to the Election Commission.

Earlier, a list of the office-bearers who elected Jose K Mani as the chairman of the party was submitted to the National Election Commission.

After winning the LSG polls, Jose K Mani is confident to start campaign for assembly polls.
