Kozhikode: With an aim to encourage the panchayats towards development, Mathrubhumi will reward the best panchayats in the state. The panchayats which tops in the 14 districts will be honoured with a cash prize worth Rs 1 lakh and other gifts.
Out of the 941 panchayats in the state, the panchayats which showcase the best performance focusing on development, welfare, environmental and waste management projects will be selected for the award.
An expert committee will assess the performance of each panchayat and select the best one, informed Mathrubhumi chairman and Managing Editor PV Chandran and Managing Director MV Shreyams Kumar.
Further details of the award will be revealed through Mathrubhumi daily.
