Pathanamthitta: Reshma Mariam Roy, the youngest candidate in the state, has won the local self-government polls in Pathanamthitta.

The LDF candidate scripted history as the youngest panchayat ward member in the state by winning the polls at 11th ward of Aruvapalam panchayat here. She has gained power from the sitting seat of UDF.

The LDF candidate has won the polls by winning 450 votes against UDF candidate Sujatha Mohan who won 380 votes.

Interestingly, Reshma turned 21 on November 18, a day before the last date to file the nomination. Hence, she filed her nomination on November 19.
