Governor summons Vigilance director

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala governor Arif Mohammed Khan has summoned Vigilance director in connection with granting permission to conduct probe against former ministers VS Sivakumar and K Babu over the bar bribery scandal.

As appointing officer, a probe against ex-ministers can be initiated only with permission of the governor. According to reports, the governor has received the file seeking permission for the probe on Tuesday.

Following this, the governor summoned the Vigilance director to seek more clarification on the matters mentioned in the file. At the same time, the Vigilance director, who is on leave, will meet the governor once he resumes office on Thursday.

A final decision on the probe against Sivakumar and Babu will be taken after the meeting.
