BJP leader, 8 activists held for violating section 144


State spokesperson B Gopalakrishnan said that many more BJP activists will be arrested for violating prohibitory order at Sabarimala

Nilakkal: BJP state spokesperson B Gopalakrishnan and eight others were arrested for violating prohibitory orders here on Sunday.

“Not only Surendran but many more BJP activists will be arrested for violating prohibitory order at Sabarimala,” said Gopalakrishnan.

They arrived here in two vehicles. When they were on the way to Sabarimala, police enquired their details at Elavunkkal near Nilakkal. Police asked them to return within six hours after visiting the temple. They were also asked to receive a notice regarding this direction.

Police informed them that they will be allowed to ascend the hills if they receive the notice.

Meanwhile, Gopalakrishnan replied that they will not receive any notice and they will violate the prohibitory order at Sabarimala. Following this, police arrested and shifted them to Perunad police station.
