Kasaragod: Declaring support to devotees over the Sabarimala women entry issue, KPCC working president K Sudhakaran stated that the party will not exist in Kerala if it fails to support the devotees. He was addressing a function in Kasaragod.
“Congress will face setback in the coming elections if party fails to gain the support of devotees,” pointed out Sudhakaran.
“BJP will not be allowed to make political gains at Sabarimala. Congress should stand by the devotees. Otherwise, Congress will lose followers in Kerala,” he added.
Sudhakaran made the statement in response to Congress chief Rahul Gandhi who supported the supreme verdict allowing entry to all women to Sabarimala.
“Women and men are equal. I personally think they should have permission to enter at any place,” Rahul had said over Sabarimala women’s entry issue.
All India congress committee also extended support to Rahul’s stand.
