Paravur: Stray dog attacks are continuing in Kerala at an alarming rate by raising fingers at the authority’s inefficiency to tackle the issue. In a latest incident, stray dogs attacked 15 people at Chendamangalam. Three sustained serious injuries in the dog bite. The injured were taken to Ernakulam General hospital and Kalamassery medical college.
Kootukkadu Kannikkal Rajamma (82), Chendamangalam Edakyakunnathu Asokan (61), Venugopal (85) were severally injured in the stray dog attack. Among the injured, Rajamma is in critical condition and a surgery was conducted on her at the Kottayam medical college.
The stray dog attacked Rajamma when she was sitting on a veranda at her house. She sustained a fracture after the dog bit her on both arms and she fell down.
It is reported that the dog has been straying at Chendamangalam from Tuesday morning. According to public, the stray dog had symptoms of rabies. Later the natives killed the stray dog fearing chances of rabies infection.
Ten people took rabies vaccination from Ernakulam General Hospital.
