Keezhattur stir: Deliberate attempts being made to mislead people, says P Jayarajan
Kannur: CPM Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan on Friday asked the group of farmers under `Vayalkilli’ who are protesting against filling of agricultural land at Keezhattur village in Kannur district, to end their protests and to cooperate with development efforts.
P Jayarajan was speaking after visiting the Keezhattur fields where the group of farmers under `Vayalkilli’ are protesting the acquisition of the agricultural land for a national highway project.
Jayarajan visited the place to see the area where survey procedures are over for the bypass.
“False propaganda is being unleashed that the whole field will be lost when land is acquired for the national highway. Deliberate attempts are being made to mislead people. If people stand against development efforts, the overall prosperity of the region will be hindered. On behalf of CPM, I am asking all those who are protesting against the land acquisition to change their stand and to unite for the general development of the land," Jayarajan said.
He also termed the incident of gutting the agitation venue as 'unfortunate.'
Only four families, who are relatives of Keezhattur Suresh who leads the agitation, are left to submit the no objection certificate for land acquisition. Jayarajan said that they also should give the no objection certificate for the general development of the land.
