KCBC dismisses corruption in land deal, extends support to Cardinal
Kochi: Kerala Catholic Bishop’s Council (KCBC) declared that there is no corruption in the land deal of Syro-Malabar Church. A circular issued by the council asserted that allegations and suspicions over the land deal will be settled in the church.
At the same time, KCBC extended support to Syro-Malabar church synod and Cardinal Mar George Alencherry. The circular will be read out for the believers in churches on Sunday.
“The allegations over the land deal is not true. KCBC has not found such a corruption in the investigation. Fake campaigns created misunderstandings among the believers. It is a serious flaw from the part of the Catholic church,” pointed out the circular.
Meanwhile, KCBC also demanded investigation into the production of fake documents against Cardinal.
The investigation should be carried out without external pressure, KCBC added.
KCBC asserted that fake documents were produced in Cardinal’s name in the land deal. Strong action should be taken against the accused in the case, noted the circular.
Church should be vigilant to counter the attempts which create split among believers, pointed out KCBC circular.
