Malayalam play ‘Kakkukali’ spreads misconceptions about convents, should be banned: KCBC

Thrissur: Kerala Catholic Bishop’s Council has demanded the state government to ban the staging of the play ‘Kakkukali’, which allegedly propagates misconceptions about convents (nunneries).

It is alleged that the drama portrays nunneries as centres of rape.
KCBC accused that the play that mocks the Christian saint community is a blemish over the state.

Meanwhile, the Thrissur Archdiocese called for a protest against the play on Sunday. A collectorate march will be carried out from West Fort on Monday at 9.30 am.
