Kozhikode: Minister K T Jaleel raised allegations regarding misappropriation of the fund raised in the name of the sensational Kathua case.
The minister also told Mathrubhumi News that an investigation will be initiated against P K Firoz and C K Subair who are facing allegations in this regard. He further demanded that P K Firoz and Subair should disclose details of their assets and prove their innocence.
We would do everything possible in this case. Muslim League and Youth League should not think that this can be smoothly hidden from public attention. The details of the illegal assets of Youth League leaders, their houses and foreign trips should be brought under the investigation, the minister added.
"It is learnt that they raised Rs 39 lakh. The party mouthpiece made it clear that no fund was raised in Malappuram district. But fund was collected from the mosque which I visit in Malappuram district. I had told them that this should not be like the Gujarat fund and they should keep an account of all funds," K T Jaleel said.
The League is always active when it comes to fundraising. It was League workers who collected fund for Tsunami and Gujarat funds. But they made huge lapses in those cases and I raised voice against it which ended up in my ouster from the party, Jaleel added.
"My only request to the League workers is not to collect any fund from the public for these kind of causes. If we gave any money to the League workers, the amount will never reach the intended destination," the minister stated.
