N Saranya with her baby Shivathmika and husband V Sudheesh
Kasaragod: Shivathmika woke up from her little nap as the 800-metre race was progressing on the track. She sat on the lap of her father Sudheesh and searched for her mother Saranya.
As everyone cheered on for Saranya as she crossed the finishing point, Shivathmika gave a coy little smile not knowing what was happening around her.
Bedadka native N Saranya, who came to the race with her baby, became a star on the track and the gallery as well. She won the first prize in the 800 and 400-meter races in under-23 category in District Athletic Championship.
Saranya was a University champion while doing her degree at Peoples Co-operative Arts and Science College in Munnad. Saranya said that her love for sports and her husband’s support motivated her to compete in the race even after marriage and delivery.
Saranya has become the state champion while representing Bedadka panchayat in Keralotsavam. She has also proved her talent in swimming and softball.
