Kasaragod: A group of eight girl students from a Kasaragod school has accused their teacher of sexual abuse. According to the students, the teacher touched them inappropriately and sent messages through WhatsApp.

The incident came to light in the form of complaints dropped at complaint box kept in the school. Later the students complained to the school counsellor. The principal-in-charge of the school intimated the matter to the district education officer.

A police complaint was lodged and the parents-teacher association formed a special panel to probe the matter.

Meanwhile, police have been accused of apathy. The complainants alleged that the officials are not seen taking the complaints seriously and no follow-up actions were noted.
