Deceased KV Aswin
Kasaragod: Kasaragod native KV Aswin is among the army personnel killed in a defence chopper crash in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Friday. 24-year-old Aswin hails from Kizhakkemuri near Cheruvathur.
The family of the deceased came across the shocking news after the official concerned in the army intimated them about the death. He had been on service since four years. It is learnt that the dead body of the deceased will be brought to his native by Sunday. However, the district administration has not received any intimation regarding this.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the four Army personnel have been recovered from the crash site in a densely wooded mountain area 35 km from the borders with China, while search is on for the fifth person.
The advanced light helicopter (ALH) WSI, carrying five Army personnel including two pilots, was on regular sorties when it crashed at 10.43 am around Migging, around 25 km south of Tuting, the district headquarters. The cause of the crash is not yet known and details remain ascertained.
