Kasaragod double murder was not committed with party’s knowledge: Kodiyeri
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that the double murder in Periya was not committed with the party’s knowledge. He added that the party’s official stand is not to repeat such incidents. Those who act opposite to the party direction will be ousted from CPM and party will not protect them, he clarified.
CPM workers should not take part in any criminal activities. If they act against it, they cannot continue in the party. What happened in Kasaragod was a violation of the Thrissur state convention. That’s why the concerned person was expelled from the party, Kodiyeri said.
The party does not support murder politics. It was CPM which lost most number of workers due to murder politics. More than 700 CPM workers have been murdered and 236 of them were killed by RSS. The rest of murders were committed by Congress, he alleged.
CPM workers were shot to death during the tenure of Congress government. Five CPM activists were shot to death in Koothuparamba and five others were burnt to death in Cheemeni. Party has pledged to end murder politics. But the incident in Kasaragod was a violation of this vow.
The Left wing government has amended PDPP Act (Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act). According to this, damage to party offices, shops or party workers’ houses also come under the act. This was with the intention to end violent politics.
Kunjananthan was named as accused in T. P. Chandrasekharan murder case by mistake. Party has taken action against those who were found have links with the incident. The conspiracy charged imposed on Kunjananthan was intentionally added in the list by the UDF. Party does not accept it.
When asked about cases charged against Kodi Suni, Kodiyeri said that he is not even a member of the party. If the hartal was called by LDF, the media would have reported it biased. A large majority of the media are on the anti-LDF side, he alleged.
