KAS: Govt warns strict action against protesting staff
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government on Thursday warned strict action against a section of employees, who have launched a protest against the move to implement Kerala Administrative Service (KAS).
The government has taken a stance that the Secretariat staff, who boycott work after registering their attendance, would be denied salary.
In this regard, the Chief Secretary has issued a directive to the staff concerned.
The staff attached to Congress-affiliated trade union resorted to the protest after talks convened by Chief Secretary to discuss the matter failed.
The CPI-affiliated union said they would continue with the protest but would not abstain from duty.
Meanwhile, the CPM-affiliated union has termed the protest unwanted.
