Karnataka polls: Congressman collapses and dies during celebrations in Kerala

Idukki: A Congressman collapsed and died during a celebratory rally organised by the party's constituency committees in Vandiperiyar, following the party's victory in Karnataka Assembly elections. The deceased is Karuppupalam native SD Selvakumar (49), the son of the late Shiva.

Selvakumar had gone into a shop to buy firecrackers during the rally when he suddenly felt unwell and collapsed. His colleagues rushed him to the hospital, but he could not be saved.

Selvakumar is survived by his wife, Sundari, two children, Prabhu and Priya, mother Papathi. His funeral will be held on Sunday at 2 pm at his residence.
