Thiruvananthapuram: CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran asserted that the party’s decision to boycott cabinet meet was right.
Addressing media here on Wednesday, he said that CPI executive meet has unanimously supported the ministers, who boycotted the cabinet meet.
Kanam Rajendran added that state executive has expressed dissatisfaction over KE Ismail’s public statement and the party will report it to national executive.
“High Court observed that moving court against government and chief secretary by a cabinet member is unconstitutional. We have decided to not participate in a cabinet meet with a minister who declared that he will move Supreme Court against High Court verdict,” Kanam said.
He added that the executive meet also supported the decision. Some people criticised the decision and the executive meet discussed it.
The state executive decided that Kanam Rajendran, Pannyan Raveendran and Minister E Chandrasekharan would represent CPI in LDF meetings.
The party also discussed on the reservation in Devaswom Board. CPI observed that it is not economic reservation.
Kanam Rajendran said that government’s decision on reservation in Devaswom Board should not subvert any reservation system. He clarified that LDF has executed the reservation system which mentioned it in its election manifesto.
