Kollam: CPI district and state conferences are around the corner and difference of opinion between party state secretary Kanam Rajendran and assistant state secretary K Prakash Babu is likely to take the centrestage.
Kanam has been voraciously justifying the decision of CPM and its tallest leader Pinarayi Vijayan, who leads the government. On the other hand, Babu in his recent speech had slammed Left government and CPM over matters including Lok Ayukta amendement and SilverLine project.
Kanam gave a repartee that the CPI should never destabilize Left front and aid Opposition and BJP. He made the repartee during his inaugural speech at CPI District Conference here on Thursday.
It is learnt that this ongoing difference of opinion will reflect in the district conferences and state conference. This in turn will become a tool for council elections.
Kanam faction has been highlighting the recent Rajya Sabha MP seat offered for CPI by CPM-led Left front. Similarly, the faction maintains that CPM leaders curbed criticism against CPI in their conferences.
