Kanam Rajendran meets father of Alan Shuhaib
Kozhikode: CPI Kerala state secretary Kanam Rajendran on Tuesday met Shuhaib, father of Alan Shuhaib, who was arrested under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) charges.
After inaugurating an event against draconian laws organised by All India Youth Federation (AIYF) here, the CPM leader met Shuhaib. Social activist K. Ajitha accompanied Kanam Rajendran.
Earlier, during the event, The CPI leader had mocked the police in connection with the UAPA case against two CPM student activists Alan Shuhaib and Thaha Fasal.
“Libraries should not only keep Ramayaṇa and Mahabhrata. A mobile phone with two SIM cards is not a dangerous weapon. There must be joint efforts against UAPA,” he said.
“Instead of gunning them down, Maoists must be brought into the democratic system. Even the court is supporting fascist efforts instead of safeguarding the constitution,” Kanam Rajendran added.
