Thiruvananthapuram: CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran confronted criticism from the party over his 'mild' reaction to MM Mani's remark against senior leader Annie Raja. The party leaders criticised him during the CPI Thiruvananthapuram district Conference here on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister P Prasad was blamed for not taking preventive measures to tackle the increase in the price of daily commodities. Party representatives levelled sharp criticism against senior leaders during a discussion held over a political report.

The agricultural department was ridiculed during the conference for not taking appropriate measures. The CPI members also pointed out that the horticulture outlets, which started to market vegetables at a reasonable price, are being closing down.
