Kozhikode: CPM has demanded a probe into the controversy over the welcome song at the inaugural ceremony of the Kerala State School Kalolsavam.

CPM Kozhikode District Secretariat wrote a letter to the state government demanding probe into claims that the welcome song presented during the inaugural ceremony of the Kerala State School Kalolsavam includes anti-Islamic lyrics intended to denigrate the Muslim community.

The visual presentation of the welcome song contained a scene in which an Indian Army official arrested a person wearing a Keffiyeh (Islamic scarf). According to the district secretariat, the use of a person wearing Muslim attire to picture a terrorist is against the stand taken by the LDF government and the state. The letter claimed the scene was placed intentionally in the song to create unwanted controversy and spoil the Kalolsavam.
