Kasaragod: In a major breakthrough, the police nabbed the key suspect in the murder of a hotel employee in a flat near Kakkanad Infopark on Wednesday. Arshad, a Payoli native, was caught by the police while trying to cross the Kerala- Karnataka border in Kasaragod.

Body of Sajeev Krishna(22), hailing from Malappuram, was found wrapped in a bedsheet and plastic cover in a room on the 16th floor of Oxoniya flat in Edachira.

Meanwhile, the post-mortem report revealed 20 stab wounds on Sajeev's body, including those in the neck, chest, and head.

Police informed that five persons were living in the flat. A few days back, all the others except Sajeev and Arshad have reportedly gone for a tour. Sajeev was not available on his phone for the past two days. When the other inmates contacted Arshad, he disconnected their call and told them that he is out of station. Sajeev's death came to light only when the flat was opened with a spare key.
