Kottayam: Kerala Congress (M) leader and Kadaplamattom grama panchayath president Joy Kallupura passed away in a hospital here on Monday. He was 78.
He was undergoing treatment after he collapsed while attending a party meeting. His wife had filed a complaint with the chief minister alleging that Joy was mentally tortured by his fellow party members.
It is learnt that he collapsed during the argument at the party meeting. It was alleged that party members forced him to resign as president of Kadaplamattom grama panchayath.
