Thiruvananthapuram: A group of Youth Congress activists lodged a complaint with DGP against minister Kadakampally Surendran alleging that he violated lockdown norms. As per the complaint, a group of children were made to participate in a programme held at Pothencode school the other day without arranging any safety measures.
The complaint was filed against a programme held to receive the savings of children to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF). Many people attended the event violating lockdown norms and COVID resistance guidelines.
Children from outside the allowed area were made to take part in the event without ensuring any safety measures. Cases were charged against many political and social workers at various places in the state for violating lockdown norms. So, case should be charged against minister Kadakampally Surendran also, the Youth Congress demanded.
The minister had harshly criticized the teachers who burned the government order on salary cut, during this event. Following this, the Youth Congress protested against the minister and lodged the complaint.
