Kochi: Congress leader K V Thomas, who has been engaging in spats with the leadership for a while now, met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at Ernakulam guest house on Wednesday night. Thomas told Mathrubhumi News that matters including SilverLine project were discussed with the CM. He also said that he does not fear disciplinary action.
“My interest towards the left front was spiked due to their outlook on development. There is no need to bring in unwanted politics when discussing development. UDF has been trying to oust me since 2018. They are all together in that motive and want me gone,” he said. When asked why such matters are not discussed on UDF stages, K V Thomas replied that these matters can be discussed only if a chance is given to voice such opinions.
On criticisms that he should step aside and make way for younger generations, he replied- “Is it only applicable to me? It was just last day that A K Antony returned to the state after tending to national politics. He left for Delhi years back with the key of authority. He returned it only now. How long has it been?”
Thomas also criticised KPCC president K Sudhakaran and opposition leader V D Satheesan. “Sudhakaran is only a year younger to me. Will he contest to Parliament next year? V D Satheesn has completed five terms. Will he step aside for the next generation? This is hypocrisy,” he remarked.
