K Surendran taken to Kannur jail
Kozhikode: BJP leader K Surendran was taken to Kannur jail from Kozhikode sub-jail. He alleged that fake case was registered against him. He will be produced before the magistrate at 11 am.
“Upon learning that I will get bail on the Sannidhanam case, police booked another case accusing me of attacking the Chittar station and injuring a police officer,” Surendran said.
The Kannur police had registered a case against Surendran for threatening a police officer during a protest march to the SP’s office there. As a warrant was issued, Surendran was taken to Kannur from Kottarakkara Sub Jail. He stayed at Kozhikode jail on Sunday.
“After the Sabarimala issue started, cases registered against chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan at the cantonment and museum police stations were withdrawn,” he alleged and wondered if the CM and Kodiyeri were cowards.
Pointing to the solar case, Surendran questioned why cases were not registered against Oommen Chandy and K C Venugopal despite rape complaint from a woman.
