K Surendran slams Kadakampally, says he had no other option but to welcome verdict
Kozhikode: BJP state president K Surendran raised a sharp criticism against the LDF government over the Supreme Court verdict on Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple case. He stated that the LDF government faced a major setback with the verdict. He also criticised the devaswom minister Kadakampally Surendran for welcoming the verdict as he had no other option.
“The LDF government has taken a strong stance during the hearing of the case in the HC to take over the complete administrative rights of the temple. But now, the SC verdict dismissed their arguments to take over the temple,” said Surendran.
“The verdict is a success of the devotees. With the verdict, the Supreme Court upheld the rights of the people to observe the customs in the temple. The gist of the verdict is that the secular parties would not be allowed to administer the temples. The court has recognised that the devotees have the right to administer the temples,” added the BJP leader.
Criticising Devaswom minister Kadakampally Surendran as he did a volte-face by welcoming the SC verdict, the BJP leader asked whether his party and Chief Minister will accept the verdict.
“If the state government welcomes the court order, I would like to know whether they will cancel their plans to take over the administration of over 100 temples in Kerala. This verdict is not only for the Padmanabhaswamy temple,” noted the BJP leader.
