Thiruvananthapuram: BJP Kerala state president K. Surendran said that Minister for Industries and Sports E. P. Jayarajan cannot prevent anyone from entering the secretariat.
When the gold smuggling gang, including Swapna Suresh and Sarith, roamed inside the secretariat, there was no one to stop them. But when a group of public workers and media persons rushed to the secretariat after a fire at one of the blocks, it became a major issue, Surendran criticised.
It is being said that BJP activists came to the spot with sharp weapons and unleashed violence. The BJP state and district presidents were the only two sharp weapons at the spot, pointed out Surendran.
Another allegation is that we reached the spot before the Chief Secretary. How is it our fault that the Chief Secretary was late? asked the BJP leader.
Surendran alleged that there was an effort to sabotage the NIA investigation. He alleged that the files were set on fire and demanded a detailed probe under the supervision of the court into the matter. He also demanded that the central agencies must be allowed to investigate the incident.
Minutes after the fire, the additional secretary stated that the files burnt were related to guest house room booking. How could the additional secretary understand it so fast? How can he say that there was no attempt to sabotage? Most importantly, how can someone enter a locked room? Surendran questioned.
The Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) has issued a controversial order. Some PSC candidates had staged a protest in Kasaragod regarding their appointment. The PSC has directed to take legal action against them. This is condemnable. The government and its agencies are denying citizens their freedom. They are trying to turn Kerala into a concentration camp, the BJP leader alleged.
