Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president K Surendran demanded the resignation of Pinarayi Vijayan government after minister KT Jaleel appeared before the second probe agency.

“The Chief Minister has also come under the scanner. So the government should resign for an independent and impartial probe into the case,” stated Surendran.

“The investigation agencies are probing on Jaleel’s link with gold smugglers and whether he helped them smuggle gold through importing the holy texts. Jaleel no more deserves to continue as minister. CPM has taken an anti-democratic stand by opposing Jaleel’s resignation,” added the BJP leader.

“CPM is haunted with the fear that probe into the gold smuggling case will target the government and CM. They are protecting CPM realizing that if Jaleel resigns, many members from Pinarayi’s cabinet will be forced to resign,” pointed out Surendran.

“Pinarayi Vijayan government has lost the integrity and ethics to continue in power. So, the government should resign for an independent and impartial probe into the case,” demanded the BJP leader.
