Kannur: KPCC chief K Sudhakaran continued to defend the accused in the murder of Dheeraj, a student of Idukki engineering college. He claimed that none of them said who had stabbed the deceased man.
“I have no intention to hurt the sentiments of Dheeraj’s family with my statement. But Dheeraj was stabbed when he was trying to kill the accused Nikhil Paily. Hence, I would like to say that he asked for martyrdom. Nikhil Paily had no intention to attack anyone. If he planned to kill Dheeraj why did he run over 2 kilometres?. He fell down as he got tired. Dheeraj was stabbed on the same spot where Nikhil fell down. As per our assessment, if Nikhil was not chased down, Dheeraj would be alive,” said Sudhakaran.
He also criticised the police for not nabbing the accused in Dheeraj murder case.
Meanwhile, he pointed out that Congress is active in protests with more participation of young activists.
“All activities are being planned after holding talks with Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala. Protests over gold smuggling case will be intensified soon,” he added.
