Thrissur: Newly elected Kerala Sahithya Akademi president poet K Satchidanandan has assured efforts to bring national and international attention to the Kerala Sahitya Akademi. He was speaking after assuming the office of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi president here on Thursday.
It is a fact that Malayalam literature is excellent in terms of quality. But the readers outside Kerala merely know about it. We must give priority to clear this vagueness. Popular Malayalam works should be introduced to readers around the globe in their language. There should be a translation policy to translate best works in other languages to Malayalam.
Asokan Charuvil took charge as the Vice President and CP Aboobacker assumed the office of the secretary. Novelist TD Ramakrishnan, poet C Ravunni, Prof PK Sankaran and former secretary Dr KP Mohanan were present.
