K-Rail initiates SilverLine survey on rail properties

Kannur: K-Rail has initiated a survey on railway properties through which the proposed SilverLine semi high-speed rail passes through. The Kerala Rail Development Corporation Ltd has invited quotations for preparing topo plans after surveying the land and buildings.

Topo plans are aerial imagery that shows information such as height, size and location of constructions or natural features.

Last date to submit a bid is May 20. The survey shall be concluded in two months. The first phase is in districts of Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Thrissur, Ernakulam and Kottayam. It has a stretch of 178 km.

The notification states that the officials of southern railway and K-Rail must be present during the survey.

Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS), an improved GPS technology and real-time kinematic positioning are used for the survey.
