Thiruvananthapuram: K-Rail has informed that the Environmental Impact Assessment for the SilverLine project will be concluded soon in the state. This has been elaborated in the press note released as part of the campaign supporting SilverLine project. The officials stated that the ongoing Environmental Impact Assessment analyses the sound and tremors also, that could be caused by the semi high-speed railway.
K-Rail asserted that the SilverLine corridor will not pass through environmentally fragile regions of the state. Comprehensive systems will be established to avoid any hindrance to the natural flow of water bodies, including rivers and streams.
Over 88 kilometres of the corridor through the paddy fields and wetlands are passing on pillars. The officials repudiated the allegations such as the bunds created for the SilverLine may cause floods in the region.
