Thiruvananthapuram: CPM central committee member and former minister EP Jayarajan commented that only those who are mentally unsound would oppose the SilverLine project. He criticised the protests against the semi-high speed rail project here on Saturday.

Some believe that the project will not be implemented if the survey stones are removed. K-Rail aims for the holistic development of the state and the project will definitely come about, added Jayarajan.

By harshly ridiculing the opposition for staging protests against the SilverLine project, Jayarajan condemned that such follies will definitely happen if silly persons without any foresight rise to political leadership.

The people who oppose the project possess a regressive attitude towards development. They shall upgrade their thoughts along with the changing world. Sensible people have given a nod to the project, said Jayarajan.

Taking a dig at Congress he added that the party will face more setbacks if they continue to hold the outdated thoughts and attitude.
