Thrissur: Two sitting MLAs of the CPM from the district _ K Radhakrishnan (Chelakkara) and Babu M Palissery (Kunnamkulam) _ are unlikely to contest the upcoming Assembly elections.
Sources said party is not keen on putting them into fray.
In the meanwhile, considering the victory prospects, sitting MLAs will be permitted to contest in Puthukkad, Chalakudy, Guruvayur. Accordingly, C Ravindranath, B D Devassy and K V Abdul Khader will contest for the third time from their constituencies.
Earlier, the party had decided to deny seats to those contested twice. Relaxing the norm, the three has been given a third chance.
Meanwhile, K Radhakrishnan, a former speaker and minister, has conveyed his unwillingness to contest the elections to the party leadership.
Baby John, who lost from Manaloor for 490 votes last time, has expressed his wish to contest one more time. However, his candidature depends on the direction from the party state leadership.
