Thiruvananthapuram: Congress leader K Muraleedharan MP slammed governor Arif Mohammad Khan over his controversial remarks against the state government and the opposition. He stated that Governor can voice his opinion on various matters but doesn't need to meddle in the affairs of the state.

Muraleedharan's statement comes in the wake of the Governor criticizing opposition leader VD Satheesan for stating that the governor is colluding with the state government on controversial matters.

"It is not up to the governor to tell the state opposition leader how to behave and whom to emulate," he said.

Muraleedharan also slammed Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and asked him not to support the governor, who has links with RSS.

"The UDF is not opposed to giving pensions to personal staff. The governor could do nothing in this matter," he added.

If there is a need for an amendment on the issue, it should be tabled in Assembly. The chief minister and the government should show some courage to reject the unnecessary suggestions from governor, he said.
