Thiruvananthapuram: Bar owner Biju Ramesh raised allegation against former chief minister Oommen Chandy in connection with the bar bribery case. He alleged that former minister K Babu asked money as instructed by Oommen Chandy when he was chief minister.
Biju Ramesh added that his assistants had taken some amount to the KPCC office, as requested by the Congress leaders. K Babu asked for huge amount of money for party fund many times. He told me that all these were on the basis of the then chief minister, he said.
Rs 25 lakh was given to V S Sivakumar and Rs 50 lakh was delivered at K Babu's office in the secretariat. But when the Vigilance arrived to record the statement, they kept asking funny questions and never asked anything about these incidents, Biju Ramesh alleged.
Biju Ramesh said that the Vigilance probe into this case is mere farce and that he does not have any trust. Both Congress and CPM are trying to settle the case somehow. Any central agency should probe into the case, Biju Ramesh demanded.
