Thiruvananthapuram: Advocate K Ananthagopan will be appointed as the president of the Travancore Devaswom Board. He is a CPM State Committee member and former secretary of the Pathanamthitta district. CPM state secretariat has decided to suggest K Ananthagopan’s name for the TDB president post.
Based on this, K Ananthagopan will be considered as the representative of Hindu ministers in the state cabinet. Manoj Charalel has been selected as the representative of CPI in TDB.
The tenure of the current president of the Devaswom Board, N Vasu and member KS Ravi will end this Saturday. The government had decided that the current officebearers should be replaced. Interstingly, the new president and the member hail from Pathanamthitta. K Ananthagopan had earlier contested in the parliament election from Pathanamthitta.
