KT Jaleel
Thiruvananthapuram: Former minister and MLA KT Jaleel has again come out with allegations against retired High Court Judge and Lok Ayukta Justice Cyriac Joseph. On a fresh social media post, Jaleel reiterated the allegation that the Abhaya case prime accused and Joseph are relatives and the latter tried to defend the former in the case.
To deduce the alliance, Jaleel has listed incidents from the autobiography of Jomon Puthenpurackal, a human rights activist and whistleblower in the Sister Abhaya murder case.
Notably, Puthenpurackal earlier had raised similar allegations. Reiterating the same, KT Jaleel alleged that Justice Cyriac Joseph, while serving as judge of Karnataka HC, visited the Forensic Sciences Laboratory in Bengaluru, where the narcoanalysis of the accused happened. To corroborate the same, Jaleel cited the statement given by Dr Malini to the CBI. He also alleged that Joseph influenced police officials to destroy evidence in the case.
Brother of Fr. Thomas Kottoor, the prime accused in the Abhaya murder case, is married to the sister-in-law of Joseph. Jaleel shared the image of the appointment order which says Joseph was the additional advocate general when Sister Abhaya died. Collating all, Jaleel, in his post, has batted that a person like Joseph should not continue as Lok Ayukta.
This is the latest allegations by KT Jaleel against Justice Cyriac Joseph after the former was forced to resign from the first Pinarayi Vijayan government over an unfavourable Lok Ayukta verdict pronounced by the latter.
