Jose K Mani wins RS bypoll in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: Jose K Mani has made his re-entry to the Rajya Sabha after winning the bypoll held here on Monday. Jose K Mani who contested as LDF candidate won the polls for 96 votes. UDF’s Sooranad Rajasekharan obtained 40 votes out of the 137 votes polled.

Meanwhile, one LDF vote was declared void.

Jose K Mani expressed his gratitude to public representatives and his party workers after winning the election.

“ LDF’s foundation is more strengthened after the assembly election. Over thousands of activists joined the front so far,” said the newly-elected MP.

Jose K Mani had resigned from the MP post in January after his party quit the alliance with the United Democratic Front (UDF) and joined the Left Democratic Front (LDF).
