Jose K Mani, UDF should have held conciliation talks, says K Muraleedharan
Kozhikode: MP K Muraleedharan expressed disappointment over Kerala Congress (M) Jose faction’s decision to leave UDF. He stated that Jose faction and UDF should have reached a compromise over the issues.
Addressing the media here on Friday, the Congress leader criticised that Jose K Mani and his group left the front following the dispute over the district panchayat seat.
“If more parties leave UDF, it will affect the confidence of the workers,” said Muraleedharan.
UDF was a strong front which included top leaders like KM Mani, R Balakrishnan and Veerendra Kumar. Though some of them are no more, most of their successors have joined LDF. I think they had problems with UDF due to communication gap. If they were ready to hold talks, all problems would have been solved, said Muraleedharan.
At the same time, he raised a sharp criticism against LDF.
“They had even interrupted Jose K Mani’s budget presentation,” he added.
He also pointed out that he did not take effort to bring Jose K Mani back to UDF.
“I did not try to influence Jose K Mani to return to UDF. I don’t hold any special powers for it. Still, I want to bring back every politician who left UDF. Every UDF member should strive for it. NCP is always welcome to join UDF. Most of them are struggling to cooperate with LDF,” added Muraleedharan.
