It is learnt that Jose K Mani resigned the Rajya Sabha MP post in order to contest the Kerala Assembly election from Pala constituency. As per reports, the Rajya Sabha seat which will be vacant after Jose K Mani’s resignation is likely to be given to Kerala Congress.

New Delhi: Jose K Mani resigned as Rajya Sabha MP. He submitted the resignation letter to Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu. Earlier, Congress had harshly criticised Jose K Mani for not resigning the Rajya Sabha MP post which he won while being part of the UDF.

It is learnt that Jose K Mani resigned the Rajya Sabha MP post in order to contest the Kerala Assembly election from Pala constituency. As per reports, the Rajya Sabha seat which will be vacant after Jose K Mani’s resignation is likely to be given to Kerala Congress.

LDF assume that the election will be held along with the Rajya Sabha by-election in Gujarat. Jose K Mani decided to resign the post after he received favourable directives from the Election Commission of India and the High Court.

The candidate in the Rajya Sabha seat, which will be vacant after Jose K Mani’s resignation, will be decided later. Veteran Kerala Congress leaders Stephen George, P K Sajeev and P T Jose are considered for the post.
