Kottayam: In a significant political development, the Jose K Mani faction of Kerala Congress has been ousted from the United Democratic Front (UDF).

The UDF took the stringent action after the Jose faction refused to resign the Kottayam district panchayat president post even after a direction from the UDF.

Addressing a press conference here, UDF convenor Benny Behanan said that the Jose faction refused to obey the agreement despite several discussions. Benny Behanan clarified that the Jose faction no longer has the right to continue in UDF.

Meanwhile, the Jose faction responded that the move to oust them from the front was one sided. They clarified that the UDF’s decision was taken under pressure from the Joseph faction.
