Kottayam: Veteran leader P J Joseph stated that Jose K Mani cannot claim complete victory in Pala. He said this while addressing the media after knowing the local body election results.
We won in four district panchayats out of five. In Kattappana municipality, all three seats were won by defeating the candidates who contested with two leaves symbol. Only the number of seats owned by Congress decreased. Our front won all 9 seats contested in Pala municipality and four out of five in Idukki district panchayat, he stated.
P J Joseph also said that it should be checked if Kerala Congress was the major factor which caused the UDF lose Pala and Kottayam. We won the strongholds of Kerala Congress defeating Jose K Mani faction. Also the seats were won with only a very few votes, he added.
