Jose K Mani asks those who joined Joseph faction to return, warns of disqualification
Kottayam: Jose K Mani has hastened the political moves soon after the Election Commission allotted the two leaves symbol to the Kerala Congress faction led by him. Party will convene meetings of district leaders shortly and will decide on the steps to disqualify the representatives who won elections using this symbol and joined P J Joseph faction.
According to the majority verdict of the Election Commission, the two leaves symbol and the name Kerala Congress (M) can be used by Jose K Mani faction. With this, Jose K Mani is trying to bring back those who joined Joseph faction following disputes on leadership.
As part of this, Jose K Mani has demanded that those who contested elections under the two leaves symbol and won must return to the party. He has also warned that they will take legal action as per the anti-defection law if they did not return. This will be finalised by the district level meetings.
However, P J Joseph is trying to obtain a stay order from the court on the verdict of the Election Commission. Also Joseph faction is continue to pressurize the UDF to prevent return of Jose K Mani faction to the front.
