Johnny Nellore quits as Oushadhi chairman
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Congress (Jacob) faction will not take part in seat sharing talks, said chairman Johnny Nellore here on Friday. The move comes after the Congress did not come to a conclusion in offering 4 seats demanding by the splinter group. As a form of protest, Johnny Nellore also resigned as chairman of Oushadhi.
Johnny Nellore told mediapersons that Kerala Congress (Jacob) faction has put forward the request of 4 seats to the Congress and that looks more reasonable. In 2011, the Congress had grabbed the Muvatupuzha seat in the last minute and instead offered the Angamaly seat which was not sought after.
Though 4 seats were demanded from the Congress, so far nothing has happened. There are rumours that the Angamaly seat will not be given to the Kerala Congress (Jacob) faction following news that the group may not emerge triumphant in Angamaly. Johnny Nellore said the resignation is to express protest over this.
