Jisha’s father files petition seeking Rs 10k compensation
Perumbavoor: JIsha’s father Paapu has filed a petition at the Moovatupuzha Maintenance Tribunal seeking help for his treatment and for his day-to-day food. Pappu has named Jisha’s mother Rajeshwari and sister Deepa as accused. RDO MG Ramachandran, who heard the case, summoned both Rajeshwari Amma and Deepa to the court.
After Jisha’s murder, her elder sister Deepa was offered a government job at the Revenue department. The govt also gave Rs 10 lakh compensation to the family as well built a new house. The KPCC also handed over Rs 15 lakh to Jisha’s mother. But what Pappu got was a mere Rs 5000, the money allotted by the government.
Pappu says he belongs to Scheduled Caste and the government has offered help meant for the weaker sections of the society to his wife and elder daughter, and that his wife does not belong to SC.
The family is also entitled to collect the interest from the deposits. Moreover, MP Suresh Gopi and actor Jayaram have also given Rs 2 lakh each to Jisha’s mother. They also received monetary benefits from various other sources. But till date, they had not enquired about him or about his ailments, the petition stated.
The petition also seeks Rs 10,000 per month as compensation benefit. Pappu has been separated and living away for some years.
