Kannur: LDF convener EP Jayarajan met with veteran leader P Jayarajan at a marriage function in Kannur. Earlier, CPM state committee member P Jayarajan alleged that EP Jayarajan illegally acquired a property in Kannur during a state committee meeting. He also requested the party leadership to take action against EP Jayarajan.
Following this, the party faction in Kannur was split between the two leaders, and the ongoing tussle in senior party leadership left the LDF convener in a tough spot. Despite the tension, two veteran leaders met each other while attending a marriage function of Muslim League leader Pottankandi Abdulla's son on Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, EP has not yet shared his thoughts over the allegations levelled against him. The LDF convener is reported to attend the CPM state secretariat on Friday.
Earlier today, it was learned that EP informed the party about his willingness to step down from the office of LDF convener, citing ill health.
