JASS Tourism initiates moves to nab Sreejith with Interpol help
Dubai: Dubai: Officials of Dubai-based JAAS Tourism LLC have initiated moves to bring Chavara MLA Vijayan Pillai’s son Sreejith to Dubai after arresting him with Interpol’s help.
Sreejith was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment by a Dubai court on May 25, 2017, in a cheating case involving over Rs 10 crore. The complaint relates to giving a bounced cheque for repayment of the amount. Sreejith had obtained the amount through JASS Tourism company. The verdict was on a complaint filed by JASS Tourism LLC MD Hasan Ismaeel Abdulla Almarzooqi.
Approving the verdict, the Dubai Public Prosecution has issued an arrest warrant against him.
India and UAE has signed the agreement regarding the handing over of convicts. JASS Tourism MD Hasan Abdulla Almarzooqi and middleman Rakhul Krishna have started attempts to pave the way for the arrest of Sreejith, who had escaped to India.
Mathrubhumi News has obtained the documents connected with the case.
Meanwhile, Chavara MLA Vijayan Pillai told Mathrubhumi News that he does not know about the financial deals of his son.
“Though I asked him about the issues, he said that my intervention in the issue is not needed. People close to Rakhul Krishna came to see me once,” he said.
Vijayan Pillai also said that the allegations raised agains this son are false.
